Dr Vermeulen trained as a doctor and plastic surgeon at the University Hospitals Leuven. He then specialised in restorative and aesthetic facial surgery, first with Dr van der Meulen at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, then with Prof. Deraemacker at the Bordet Institute in Brussels and then later with Dr Tonnard and Dr Verpaele at the Coupure Centre in Ghent.
He performs all non-surgical treatments and surgeries. His forte is vaginal surgery. Dr Vermeulen immersed himself in this field during an intensive fellowship with the prestigious Dr Gary Alter in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles. He continues to add to his knowledge through fellowships and conferences, such as the European Aesthetic Gynaecology & ISAP.
He enjoys sharing his expertise as a speaker at international meetings, such as the CATBBAS meeting, and in various interviews with the Flemish press.
